LONG Man

Associate cello professor at the Wuhan Conservatory of Music.  Prof. Man is the board member of the Hubei Province Music Examination Association, director at the Chinese Cello Society, and a member of the judging panel at the 2nd Annual Ai Qin Cup National Cello Competition.

In September 1978, Prof. Man was admitted to the attached middle school of the Hubei Arts Academy (now the Wuhan Conservatory of Music) as a cello major student.  She studied with Prof. Liu Yan and Chen Pingxiu.  After her graduation in 1985, Prof. Man was hired as a cello teacher at the Wuhan Conservatory of Music.  In 1993, Prof. Man decided to enter the master program and further her study with Prof. Zhong Dezhen.  This time she was majored both in Cello Education and Performance.

Over the years, Prof. Man has helped numerous elementary, middle school and college students to achieve professional level of cello playing.  Lots of her students have won prizes in national and province competitions in China.  She was honored to receive the 2004 and 2005’s China National Dandelion New Talents Teacher’s Award.  Prof. Man has also published many articles national wide about cello playing.
