Held in Beijing, China during the summer holiday every year, The Great Wall International Music Academy (GWIMA) is a month-long classical music education summer institute for gifted string players from the age of 10 to 25 from China, the United States, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Europe and around the world. GWIMA, which was founded in the summer of 2005 by the Starling Project Foundation in the United States, not only brings together current and future leaders of the music profession, but also promotes cultural exchange and provides the highest quality music training and performances.

During the Academy month, selected young musicians from around the world stay in a Beijing resort and are given private lessons, master classes and chamber music coaching by renowned faculty members from the world’s top conservatories. Meanwhile, there are various performance opportunities for the students through a series of high profile concerts in Beijing, sharing the joy of classic music with thousands of audiences in the concert halls.
